From the filling to the crust, these are the best empanadas in Costa Rica.
My husband and I have discovered the best empanadas north of Argentina, which are conveniently located here in Costa Rica. Donde El Ché on the east side of San Jose in San Pedro, comes highly recommended.

JetBlue Now Fly’s Daily to Costa Rica

JetBLue Airline completed its first non-stop flight to San Jose, Costa Rica on March 26th 2009.  Costa Rica is the first Central American destination for JetBlue where they offer a daily flight from Orlando, Florida. 
This is a significant event for tourism in Costa Rica because it is proof that the tourism sector is still growing while many other nations experience decreases. In addition, JetBlue adds many seats that were desperately needed to accomodate this tourism increase.

Walking through the town of Jaco this past week, one cannot help but notice all of the young north Americans parading around town. JetBlue set to begin direct flights to Costa Rica

Costa Rica will begin to receive direct flights from low cost carrier JetBlue.
The first direct flights from the budget airline will arrive at the Juan Santamaria Airport on Thursday, March 26. According to a JetBlue spokesperson, the brasilian aircraft, an Embraer E190, with capacity for 100 people is filling up fast. The company already turned in all necessary application documents to the Civil Aviation Authority and is just waiting for a three month provisional license to be awarded by the Technical Council. Continental Airlines increases routes to Costa Rica

 
With the high prices of oil in the last year and the crash of the US economy the airline industry is having a terrible time making ends meet. Even in the doom and gloom atmospehere there is still hope for the tourism market in Costa Rica. While Continental Airlines has cut 3000 jobs and reduced their routes by 11% worldwide, Costa Rica will receive increased services.

Construction slows down in Costa Rica

The Buffer Zone Around Las Baulas Park is Marked in Green.
While the global economy and lack of available financing have caused a lull in construction in Jaco, including the termination of works already in progress, activists are also winning the fight to stop growth around an important marine park in Tamarindo.
